After working in Washington DC and New York City, Julie returned home to Louisville and continued her design career at Bittners.

 

In 2001, she went out on her own and started Feather Your Nest. Together, she and her husband, Clyde, built high-end spec homes for several years. 

 

Later she opened Julie Ensor Interiors, primarily focusing on helping clients tackle the often overwhelming project of building their own home. ​
